The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Adel Al-Rikabi, confirmed that there are more than one million unemployed Iraqis, including 8,000 who hold graduate degrees.
The Rikabi said in a televised interview disciple NRT, today (August 25 2021), the "base registered with the Ministry of Labor data a million and seven hundred thousand unemployed , including about 8,000 of the Supreme Master of the campaign witnesses be and a doctor."
He added, "The ministry played its role in the field of employment, and we had field tours, whether from the person of the minister or the leaders of the ministry and its competent departments to private sector facilities and companies, and even to government companies associated with ministries that bring in foreign workers."
He explained, "Foreign labor is one of the main problems, because the foreign worker competes with the Iraqi worker, in the job opportunities available in the country."
Al-Rikabi expressed his belief that the real numbers of the unemployed in Iraq are much greater than one million seven hundred thousand people, because we are talking here about the officially registered ones who submitted their documents to the ministry.
