    {Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Planning in Iraq announced today, Thursday, that the number of cars has increased to more than 7 million cars during the year 2020.
    And the Central Statistical Organization of the Ministry said in a report, "The total number of private sector cars amounted to 7 million and 26 thousand and 106 cars registered until the end of December of the year 2020, with the cars of the Kurdistan region, which includes all plates, including the temporary examination."
    And he indicated, "These cars increased compared to the year 2019, when the number of cars reached 6,888,201 cars, an increase of 2%."
    The report added that "the average number of cars registered for the year 2020 with all their plates amounted to 175 cars per 1000 residents of Iraq."
    The agency indicated that "cars bearing permanent plates accounted for 59.7% of the total number of cars, including the Kurdistan region, while the temporary inspection plates amounted to 5% of the total cars, while the number of cars with new plates amounted to 25.3% of the total number of cars. The total number of cars during the year 2020, knowing that there are no temporary inspection cars or cars with new plates in the Kurdistan region.
