Shafaq News/ The Iraq Stock Exchange announced today, Sunday, that it traded two billion shares, with a financial value of two billion dinars, during the past week.
The market said in a report seen by Shafak News Agency, "The number of companies whose shares were traded during the past week amounted to 43 joint-stock companies, while the shares of 37 companies were not traded due to the lack of convergence of the prices of purchase orders with those of sale."
He explained that "the number of suspended companies amounted to 23 companies for not providing disclosure out of 103 companies listed in the market."
He added that "the number of traded shares amounted to Mayari and 490 million shares, a decrease of 43.97% compared to the previous session, with a financial value of two billion and 148 million dinars, a decrease of 18.25% compared to the previous session through the implementation of 1434 transactions," noting that "the ISX60 traded price index closed at 588.64 points, recording an increase of 0.03% from its closing in the previous session.
He pointed out that "the number of shares purchased from non-Iraqi investors last week amounted to 206 million shares, with a financial value of 242 million dinars, through the implementation of 73 deals, while the number of shares sold from non-Iraqi investors amounted to 494 million shares, with a financial value of 446 million dinars, through the implementation of 174 deals.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Stock Exchange organizes five trading sessions per week from Sunday to Thursday, and includes 103 Iraqi joint stock companies representing the sectors of banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism and hotels.
