Currency auction sales in the Iraqi Central exceed $200 million
Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq's sales of US dollars rose in an auction today, Wednesday, to record more than 200 million dollars.
Shafak News Agency correspondent stated that today, during its auction for buying and selling US dollars, the Central Bank witnessed an increase in its sales by 3.06% to reach 202 million and 352 thousand and 15 US dollars covered by the bank at a base exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar, compared to yesterday, Tuesday. Sales amounted to 196 million and 872 thousand and 406 dollars.
Our correspondent indicated that most of the bank's sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of remittances and credits, which amounted to 137 million and 452 thousand and 15 dollars, while the remaining amount of 64 million and 900 thousand dollars went in cash.
Our correspondent indicated that 26 banks have met requests to enhance balances abroad, including 20 banks to meet cash requests, in addition to 270 mediation companies.
