    A statement by the Ministry of Oil, which {Euphrates News} received a copy of, stated that: “Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar stressed, during his patronage ceremony, the signing ceremony of the preliminary principles agreement for the Al-Faw investment project with a capacity of 300,000 barrels per day and the construction of a petrochemical complex with a capacity of 3 million tons, on the importance of strengthening the role of investments. global manufacturing and petrochemical industries. 
    The minister said, "This project will enhance Iraq's role in the manufacturing and petrochemical industries and contribute to sustainable development, pointing to the importance of the project in providing products with modern specifications.
    " 29 billion, the result of efforts made by ministers, agents and concerned departments over the past years,” stressing that “this contract is the largest in the oil industry, and it will enhance Iraq’s role in this field.”
    The contract was signed by Husam Hussein Al-Wali, General Manager of the South Refineries Company, on behalf of the Ministry of Oil, and on the Chinese side, Yu Funk Chunk, General Manager of Hualu Company.
