Al-Marsawy said in a blog post, followed by “Nass” (December 31, 2021), that “Iran has opened its first oil port on the Gulf of Oman, which will allow it to dispense with the Strait of Hormuz as a shipping lane, and the new station is connected to a pipeline with a length of about a thousand kilometers. It extends from the Bushehr Governorate to the Jask port in the Hormuz Governorate, which would have allowed the tankers to shorten the days of their flights, and avoid the Gulf waters.
He continued, "The strategic Strait of Hormuz, which has repeatedly constituted a theater of tension with the United States, through which about a fifth of global oil exports pass, and was the main point for the export of Iranian oil at the Khark Island terminal in the Gulf."
He pointed out that "the completion of the project required two years, and its cost was estimated at two billion dollars."
And he indicated that "in contrast, the Grand Port of Al-Faw is not an oil port, but is dedicated to the import of non-oil goods and commodities. Therefore, the opening of the Jask port will not affect the Grand Port of Faw."

On Tuesday, the General Company for Ports of Iraq announced the launch of all financial allocations for the Great Port of Faw for the current year.
The company's general manager, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement received by "Nass" (December 28, 2021), that "this came as a result of the directives and follow-up of the Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli," stressing that "works in the port projects, which took place at the beginning of this year, are progressing at a good pace." very".
He added that "the five berths have a good transition with the entry of the excavators to the waterfront after there was a strengthening of the seabed and a comprehensive lifting of mines from the port basin."
He continued, "The will and love of the country impose on everyone to complete this project and bring it to safety, stressing the determination of the company's senior management to complete the project of the great port of Faw and all the projects attached to it."
