The lack of electoral programs is the appearance of the Iraqi parties

The parties and coalitions that participated in the early October 2021 elections in Iraq lack clear electoral programs related to a wide range of internal and external issues; Determining and resolving the position is an effective factor in touching the true meaning of a sound democratic practice.
The lack of commitment to this matter since the previous parliamentary sessions, and specifically since 2005 with the first elections for the National Assembly, has exacerbated the state of mistrust between the people on the one hand and what we can call the “political class” on the other hand, and the state of mistrust has reinforced that performance Bad for all successive governments since 2003 that failed to achieve what is required of them towards the Iraqi people, which must be the motive behind engaging in politics, otherwise it is meaningless.
The Greek philosopher Aristotle says, that the city-state in “politics” emerges into existence for the sake of life, but it was found for the sake of the good life, as he described it, and he repeatedly says that the good life or happiness is the appropriate end of the city-state in “politics”.
And we have the right to ask, according to this absolutely correct concept, out of concern for the welfare and happiness of the people, how the politicians of Iraq run the country in the apparent absence of their “exclusively benevolent” electoral programmes. In fact, we have always wondered about this since the first day when the former regime was overthrown. In April 2003, however, the correct contexts were not followed to improve the reality of the people. Unemployment and lack of housing overtook them. The problems of providing electricity and water aggravated, and poverty rates increased. And he pardoned the reconstruction of the country and the revival of its industry and cultivation, which sowed pessimism and despair over the improvement of the situation among the majority of the population, and goodness was pushed aside and people lost their confidence in everything that is happening to the extent that the majority of the population boycotted electoral practices extensively since 2018, especially in the Parliament elections The last is in October 2021.
A look at the experiences of democratic countries and the programs of their parties that they publish before the elections shows the big difference in the two cases, the secret of the superiority and strength of building these countries and the reasons for their advancement.
In Germany, for example, in which several parties competed in the September 2021 elections, in which Chancellor Angela Merkel chose not to run, the Social Democratic Party, which won later, presented its program months before the elections and clearly declared that it was determined to fix the structural weakness of the German economy and adapt market mechanisms. Working with the requirements of the globalized world economy, and observing the rights of workers, as it wants to preserve the laws that prevent them from being laid off, according to what was stated in its electoral program, which clarified that its supreme goal remains to reconcile “social justice with the requirements of the global economy that is on the path of globalization”; He also clearly presented his perceptions of foreign policy and did not hide that, including that the party supports Turkey's accession to the European Union, and seeks for Germany to obtain a permanent seat in the UN Security Council, and touched upon immigration and integration laws, and announced the party's intention in case of winning the elections to modernize the work mechanisms of the security services German and “complete separation between The tasks of the police (internal security) and the army (external security)”, and he touched on education and universities policy, and other sensitive matters. Thus did other parties present their programs, including the Green Party, the Christian Democratic Party, the Liberal Democratic Party, and the New Left Alliance; All of them put forward their electoral programs clearly in order to be in front of the people.
As for us in Iraq, it is strange that the competitors are trying to revive dead projects that have been proven to fail, and they talk with the logic of sectarian, sectarian and regional divisions; We did not find anyone to address the crises that people suffer from and how they will solve them if they obtain government positions, such as the electricity crisis, services and others, which in my opinion proves the correctness of the position of those boycotting the elections who think that only a difference occurs in the overall requirements of their lives, whoever holds the next government position or the ministries Those owned by an alliance or a party, their representatives mobilize their forces on the satellite channels to talk about their government entitlement, even the losers in the elections, without telling us what their minister they nominate for the concerned ministry will do.
Proper work and the elevation of the country require clearly defining programs and duties. Politics, as we said, has no value if it does not seek goodness and people’s happiness, because otherwise it brings discord, chaos, mismanagement and corruption, which the people have touched over the past eighteen years since the change in 2003 This is something that should not continue if we want to build a developed country that seeks to serve its diverse population; Which is a source of strength and not a manifestation of division, disharmony and conflict over gains, as reflected by the claimants of positions in the absence of clear programs to serve society and people, who want a constructive political process that leads them to good and well-being in line with the enormous material and human energies that the country possesses, and without that we will continue to spin in the void. We go from bad to worse, and we will not be able to build a free country worthy of a decent people; The lesson is what we achieve for the people, and not parliamentary seats that we win here or lose there, and all of that is related to the formation of an effective and reliable government, so that the wounds do not grow and the collapse deepens.
