    On Wednesday, the Integrity Commission announced that it had thwarted an attempt to seize two state-owned properties in Basra Governorate.

    The authority stated in a statement that “Nass” received a copy of it (February 23, 2022), that it is “the investigation department of the authority, and while talking about the operation carried out by the staff of the Basra Investigation Directorate, it indicated that it thwarted the manipulation of two properties with an area of ​​(13 dunums, and 30 acres). , and 85 m 2) belonging to the Ministry of Municipalities,” explaining that “they were registered in the name of the Ministry of Finance and some persons had the right to dispose of them before they were acquired by the Basra municipality in 1978.”  
      
      
    The authority revealed, "There was collusion between some municipality employees with people who were able to obtain a Title Deed of Form (25), for the purpose of selling to citizens, pointing out that the authority's procedures led to the preservation of public funds by placing a sign not to dispose of the two properties whose estimated value is up to Twenty-five billion dinars, as they are located in a distinct area in the center of Basra city.”  
      
      
    She added, "The Commission's Investigation Directorate in Basra carried out two separate operations in the governorate's retirement department, which resulted in the seizure of pension cards, a Master Card and forged documents, for the purpose of seizing the salaries of retirees, including a deceased female pensioner, in violation of the law."  
      
    According to the statement, “three fundamental seizure records were organized in the operations carried out, based on judicial notes, and presented, along with the seized criminal records, to the Basra Court Judge, which is specialized in legal integrity issues, for the appropriate procedures for integrity.”
