Shafaq News/ The new Canadian ambassador to Iraq Gregory Galligan expressed on Tuesday his country's desire to strengthen relations with Kurdistan Region in various fields, especially in the investment sector.
And the Kurdistan Regional Government stated in a statement today, that its President, Masrour Barzani, received the new Canadian ambassador.
The statement added that the Canadian ambassador was pleased to assume his duties in Iraq, and presented a summary of Canada's programs and activities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
He also expressed his country's desire to strengthen relations with the Kurdistan Region, especially in the fields of investment, agriculture and technology. The Canadian ambassador also praised the experience of peaceful coexistence between the various components of the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides discussed the political process in Iraq, the ISIS war and the importance of supporting the Peshmerga and supporting the reforms of the Kurdistan Regional Government, according to the statement.
