Today, Tuesday, Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani confirmed Iraqi efforts to gradually transition to a sustainable green economy.
Al-Hamdani said in a speech at the Ninth Global Ministerial Forum on Water in Dakar, that Iraq has suffered in recent decades from the effects of climate change, which has caused frequent droughts, at a time when the country is witnessing a dwindling of water flows from upstream countries and a deterioration in its quality.
He added that Iraq has always sought to invite upstream countries to cooperate in the field of managing the waters of the shared rivers.
