The largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance has denied media reports that it has transferred the data of its users to Russian intelligence services.
A post on Binance’s website read: “Assumptions that Binance has transferred any user data, including Alexei Navalny, to Russian regulators or government agencies controlled by the Russian Federal Security Forces are completely false and baseless. Binance has not entered into any agreements with the Russian government that differ from any other agreements outside of judicial and legal jurisdiction.”
On Friday, Reuters published a report alleging the conclusion of a certain agreement in April between the Russian and Eastern European division of Binance and executives in Russia under which the cryptocurrency exchange pledged to transfer the data of customers suspected of "criminal activity" to the Russian authorities.
Binance has also confirmed that it will file a complaint with the party that made the allegations.
