Parliamentary bloc: We obtained promises to pass a general amnesty, accountability and justice

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Azm Alliance bloc revealed that it had obtained preliminary approval from some political forces to pass the amendments to the General Amnesty Law and the Law of Accountability and Justice, and threatened to boycott parliament sessions unless these two paragraphs were included in the agenda, and talked about another stage that will begin by opening the file of the kidnapped Of the people of the liberated areas and compensation.
Member of the Alliance, Muhammad al-Abed Rabbo, said that "the Alliance of Resilience seeks through the House of Representatives to pass two amendments, the first to the General Amnesty Law, and the second to the Accountability and Justice Law."
Al-Abed Rabbo added, "There are people who were wronged in the investigation and confessions were extracted from them, and today we demand that they be retried and investigated again."
He pointed out that "the courts and security services have electronic memories and (hardware) computers that contain the names of all those who belonged to the terrorist organization ISIS, whether they were fighters or supporters."
And Al-Abed Rabbo stated, “The Alliance of Azm does not want to release these people, but rather wants to release those who have no right to information, or whose names were not recorded in those (hardware).”
He pointed out that "our defense is for the wrongdoers, not the terrorists or those who belong to ISIS," noting that "some people we know well know that they were subjected to coercion and made incorrect statements."
Al-Abed Rabbo noted that “many of the people of the liberated areas fought against the American forces and were arrested and sentenced, and they were not released from detention after the issuance of the amnesty law in 2016, although others who fought the Americans from the Shiite component were also included in the law and were released.”
He finds, "The segment of those who fought the American forces was discriminated against by including some of them with amnesty and excluding others," noting that "our coalition demands the expulsion of those who fought the American forces exclusively, regardless of their affiliation to any component of Iraqi society."
And Al-Abed Rabbo added, “The other demand of the Alliance of Resolve is to amend the Accountability and Justice Law, considering that this apparatus represents a revealing authority, but what is currently happening is that everyone who has a transaction in the state should obtain a letter that supports its non-inclusion of accountability and justice procedures.”
He noted, "These routine procedures included those who wanted to be appointed, receive compensation, or accept universities, or those who had a martyr and wanted to receive his body."
Al-Abed Rabbo added, "Many people fought ISIS gangs and were martyred at the hands of this terrorist organization, or that their homes were destroyed, but they did not receive their rights under the pretext that they were covered by the accountability and justice procedures."
He continues, "The Accountability and Justice Law has been in force for twenty years and enough time has passed, and he believed that "everyone who has information about the dissolved Baath Party can go to the courts."
Al-Abed Rabbo stressed that "our coalition demanded that accountability and justice be referred to the Iraqi judiciary, and we have confidence in our courts to take the correct decisions regarding the charges related to the dissolved Baath Party."
Al-Abed Rabbo spoke of “solutions in order to move forward with these two laws, most notably boycotting parliament sessions unless their legal agenda is included.”
He pointed out, "The partner blocs approached us that the stage requires enacting laws that remove injustice and injustice against the people of the liberated areas, and we were able to obtain initial approvals away from political consensus."
Al-Abed Rabbo went on to say that "the second stage, after we implement the amendments to the laws of amnesty, accountability and justice, will be for the kidnapped and compensate the affected people in our regions."
The Sovereignty Alliance had revealed earlier that it had submitted a proposed law to amend the general amnesty law issued in 2016, confirming its referral to the Presidency of Parliament.
