Shafaq News/ The Secretary-General of the Iraqi National Project, Jamal Al-Dari, criticized on Sunday the failure to exhume the remains of ISIS victims from the "Al-Khasfa" cemetery in Mosul, at the same time attributing the reason for the migration of Christians from Iraq to not paying "real" attention to them.
Al-Dari said in a press conference held in the city of Mosul, which was attended by Shafak News Agency, that "the political process in Iraq was founded on quotas and sectarianism, and it will not produce results that serve this country."
He added that "the current political blockage will only be overcome by a political process that puts Iraq's interest above all interests, and that the Iraqi identity is the only identity to which everyone belongs."
Al-Dari criticized unnamed political parties by saying, “Whoever wanted to take back the Jurf al-Sakhar district (currently Jurf al-Nasr) was the first to open the al-Khasfa cemetery, which includes thousands of innocents south of Mosul,” adding, “We know that Jurf al-Sakhr is not in your hands, but Mosul is in your hands, and al-Khasfa is in front of Where do you see the rights of the people and the rights of this oppressed city?”
On the other hand, Al-Dari indicated that "the Christians of Iraq have migrated and were displaced from the country and Nineveh Governorate because of the lack of real interest in them and their needs."
He pointed out that "it was supposed to be me and the French ambassador in the city of Mosul during this visit, but the ambassador was infected with Corona and is currently in quarantine with his companions in Erbil."
It is noteworthy that a number of Sunni politicians are calling for the restoration of the Jurf al-Sakhr district in Babil Governorate from the Popular Mobilization Forces, which they say controls the district and prevents the people from returning to their areas.
Al-Khasfa is a deep geological pit located south of the city of Mosul. It is one of the mass graves that ISIS used to hide the bodies of its victims there. It contains dozens of civilians and members of the security forces, whom the organization executed and dumped their bodies in “Khasfa” during its control of the city of Mosul.
