The leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Uday Abdul-Hadi, confirmed on Friday that the security of 6 areas in an Iraqi province is threatened due to the electricity crisis.
In an interview with Al-Information, Abdul-Hadi said, "The electricity crisis has worsened in the past two weeks in large parts of Diyala, stressing that the ministry bears the brunt of the suffering of Iraqis in all provinces, despite spending tens of trillions of dinars on its development."
Abdul Hadi added, “The security of 6 areas in Diyala is threatened due to the electricity crisis, because it depends on them to operate thermal cameras, especially at night, to monitor any infiltration attempts or ISIS attacks, especially in the vicinity of Al-Azim district, pointing out that the electricity crisis paralyzes its operation, which leads to the loss of an important factor.” In containing any emergency situations in the security scene.”
He pointed out, "The need to give priority to areas experiencing heat in their security file in terms of providing them with electricity to operate cameras to ward off the risks of any terrorist attacks."
Large parts of Diyala have been suffering from a stifling electricity crisis in the past two weeks
