Planning: Unemployment in Iraq reached 16.5 percent

He added that the percentage of the labor force (economically active) in Iraq constituted 39.5 percent of the total working-age population, of whom 86.6 percent were males and 13.4 percent were females, while the youth group aged 15-24 years accounted for 21 percent, and 78.2 percent of them were 25 years old and over. percent, indicating that the rate of women's participation in the labor force is 10.6 percent, compared to 68 percent for males.
He pointed out that the results showed that the youth participation rate in the labor force 15-24 was 26.5 percent, and those aged 25 and over were 45.8 percent, indicating that "the percentage of workers was 83.5 percent of the total workforce, males 88.5 percent, females 11.5 percent, and youth 15-24 years old.
