    The President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Thursday, that the relationship with France is distinguished and we aspire to strengthen it in areas of common interest, especially in the areas of security, combating terrorism, and economic cooperation in the sectors of energy, investment and climate action.


    The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that the latter "received a written message from French President Emmanuel Macron, regarding the strong relations that unite the two countries and France's firm support for Iraq, transmitted by the French Foreign Ministry's advisor for Middle Eastern affairs, Patrick Dorel, and the French ambassador to Iraq Eric Chevalier during their meeting with the President, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.





     
    According to the statement, the French president offered, in the written message, "my warmest congratulations to the president on his election as president of the Republic of Iraq, with best wishes for success and success in his work," noting "the president's primary role in ensuring the unity of the Iraqi people and meeting their aspirations for reform."
     
    In the letter, President Macron affirmed France's "firm support for Iraq in the fight against terrorism and its contribution to security, stability and reconstruction in a way that serves the Iraqi people," noting "the foundations of the solid partnership that unites the two countries and its aspiration to deepen it and implement projects that serve Iraq and its people."

     
    The French president pointed to "Iraq's main role in the regional dialogue, and the hopes placed on Iraq to play a role in easing tensions and defusing crises in the region through dialogue and constructive meeting."
     
    President Abdellatif Gamal Rashid conveyed his greetings and appreciation to President Emmanuel Macron, Counselor Patrick Dorrell, who affirmed that "the relationship with France is distinguished, and we aspire to strengthen it in areas of common interest, especially in the areas of security, combating terrorism, economic cooperation in the sectors of energy, investment and climate action, and in terms of Preserves sovereignty and achieves the interests of the two friendly peoples, as well as joint work to establish security and peace throughout the region.
