The oil expert, Ihsan Al-Attar, said, on Friday, that the Kurdistan region had put in the constitution articles that allow it to export oil and manage oil fields “without the supervision and intervention of Baghdad.”
Al-Attar added in an interview with "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the materials include that the new fields are under the control of the region, while the old fields are under the control of Baghdad."
He continued, "The solution to the problem of oil and gas in Iraq is represented in amending the constitution, and the oil must be owned by the Iraqi people and managed by the federal government, and then the financial revenues are distributed to the provinces and the region on the proportion of the population."
