Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - Today, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation is holding a series of meetings with Iraqi officials, on the fourth day of its visit to Baghdad.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with the Iraqi ministers of finance, planning and oil.
On Sunday, the delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government arrived in Baghdad, on its first visit since the new federal government headed by Muhammad Shia al-Sudani assumed its duties.
The visit aims to solve the problems between Erbil and Baghdad, especially in the field of budget and oil.
Jutiar Adel said earlier, in an interview with Kurdistan 24, that "all necessary reports and data have been submitted to the Iraqi Ministry of Finance."
He noted that the agreement between Erbil and Baghdad should be "in accordance with the principles of the constitution."
He stressed that the discussions between the delegations of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government are "continuing."
The government delegation held a series of meetings with officials in the federal government to discuss a number of files, foremost of which is the region's share of the federal budget for the year 2023.
The delegation consists of the acting ministers of finance, natural resources and planning, the chief of the cabinet office, the secretary of the cabinet, the head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department and the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government.
And between Erbil and Baghdad is a history full of disputes accumulated for years, especially those related to oil and energy files, the financial budget, and disputed lands, in addition to other contentious files.
