On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received a German delegation that included the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department in the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tobias Tunkel, the German Ambassador to Iraq, Martin Beger, and the German Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Klaus Streicher. The meeting discussed the general situation in Iraq and the region, in addition to discussing ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and Germany. In another axis of the meeting, the importance of implementing the Shingal Agreement (Sinjar), expelling militias and illegal armed forces, and providing the appropriate ground for normalizing the situation in the region, ensuring the return of the displaced to their homes.[/size]
