Today, Friday, the Central Bank of Iraq denied stopping the housing initiative loans.
"The housing loan initiative provided by the Central Bank to the Housing Fund for the purpose of construction and the Real Estate Bank for the purpose of purchase continues," the Central Bank's advisor, Ihsan Shamran al-Yasiri, told the official news agency.
He added, "There is no direction by the Central Bank to stop this initiative, and the same applies to the loans of the Agricultural and Industrial Banks."
The media and social networking sites had earlier circulated news that the Central Bank of Iraq had stopped the housing loan initiative.
