Gold prices fell in yesterday’s session, Friday, with the rise of the dollar, but hopes that the Federal Reserve will slow the pace of raising interest rates helped the yellow metal achieve gains for the fifth week in a row.
At the end of Friday's trading, gold fell in spot transactions by 0.3 percent, to about $ 1926.08 an ounce. Prices have increased 0.3 percent this week.
"The US dollar maintains some stability, so we could see a decline in gold prices next week," said Daniel Ghaly, commodities analyst at TD Securities.
The dollar stabilized against its rivals, making gold more expensive for holders of other currencies.
As for other precious metals, silver rose 0.36 percent to $23.93 an ounce. Ended 29/N33
