    Shafaq News/ On Sunday, the Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani called on the European Union countries to take decisions leading to recognition of the genocide of the Yazidi Kurds in order to achieve justice and heal the wounds of the Yazidi sisters and brothers.
    This came during the meeting of the Kurdish leader at his headquarters in Salah al-Din today, Sunday, with French Ambassador Eric Chevalier and German Ambassador Martin Yeager.



    A statement by Barzani's headquarters, received by Shafaq News Agency, stated; At the beginning of the meeting, the ambassadors of the two countries expressed, at the beginning of the meeting, the joint cooperation between France and Germany, especially in important international issues, especially the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as both countries, France and Germany, intend to establish a joint cultural center between them in the Erbil Citadel, in order to strengthen cultural and scientific relations between the region Kurdistan and Germany and France.
    According to the statement; Barzani expressed his happiness at the cooperation between Germany and France on international issues and considered it an important and influential issue. President Barzani also highly appreciated the decision of the German parliament to recognize the massacres in Sinjar as a genocide and considered it an important and historic step.
    He called on other European Union countries to take similar decisions in order to achieve justice and heal the wounds of the Yazidi sisters and brothers.
    The statement indicated; That "the meeting discussed, on the one hand, the political situation in the region, the latest developments in the Iraqi political process, and the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi federal government, where the guest delegation expressed its satisfaction with the positive atmosphere between the region and Baghdad, and that it is an opportunity to consolidate the foundations of stability in relations between Erbil and Baghdad."
     As for the political situation in the Kurdistan Region, it was another topic for the meeting, as the guest delegation reaffirmed that France and Germany will continue support, partnership and coordination with the Kurdistan Region, according to the statement, which pointed out that the meeting was attended by the two ambassadors, Olivier Decotigny, Consul General of France in Erbil.
