    Earth News / The Media and Information Department of the Kurdistan Regional Government responded, today, Saturday, to what was published by Al-Sabah newspaper regarding the dissolution of the Kurdistan Region, stressing that the people of the Iraqi governorates testify for themselves that the Kurdistan Region is ahead of other regions of Iraq by many years.
    The Department of Media and Information in the regional government said in a statement: “The Iraqi newspaper Al-Sabah published today a report claiming that an opinion poll concluded (citizens’ frustration with the political authority in the region and their desire to return to Baghdad),” noting that “the center and the alleged poll on which the newspaper relied, It has no scientific basis and is far from true.”
    The statement added: “If Al-Sabah newspaper and those behind it believe in opinion polls, then the vast majority of the people of Kurdistan gave their speech on September 25, 2017, in the largest popular referendum and free vote, as they voted in favor of independence, but the Baghdad authorities at the time responded to the referendum and the opinions of citizens by launching A military attack and the use of the army against the people of Kurdistan and imposing a siege on them.”
    He continued: “The people of Iraq’s governorates testify for themselves that the Kurdistan Region is ahead of other regions of Iraq by many years in terms of development, reconstruction and services,” wondering: “How then can the people of Kurdistan wish and request to be linked to destroyed and desolate regions in all fields!”
    The statement indicated that “the Kurdistan Region has its legal and constitutional entity, which is the product of the blood of thousands of martyrs and the steadfastness of the heroic Peshmerga, and no authority has the ability to dissolve the Kurdistan Region, and it will not be resolved by what a bankrupt newspaper writes that spends a lot of money for it without anyone knowing if it is still there.” Issued or closed!”.
