Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan Regional Government expressed, on Thursday, its desire to be a real partner in drawing up oil policy in Iraq by enacting the oil and gas law, as stipulated in the country's permanent constitution.
In his weekly press conference, the government spokesman, Jutiar Adel, renewed his denial of what the local Iraqi media has been circulating about selling oil for 50 years, and said, "Previously, on several occasions, the Kurdistan Regional Government spoke about this issue, and we did not sell oil to Turkey, but we have an agreement with it." About exporting oil through it through a pipeline.

He explained that there is no such order in the oil market that crude be sold for a period of five decades in advance because prices and quantities are subject to changes, and who says that the oil of the Kurdistan Region will not run out for another 50 years? So the rumors are illogical.
He added that the Kurdistan Region was forced to conclude an agreement to export oil through Turkey as a result of the pressure exerted by Baghdad and cut off the region's share of the financial budget in 2014 to secure the people's livelihood, stressing previously that there was production, but there was no export in the region.
He also denied what was circulated about the federal government's rejection of 75 percent of the proposals submitted by the delegation of the regional government negotiating to resolve the differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and said, "On the contrary, there are some principles and discussions that continue their steps to advance, including the oil and gas law, and they are within the framework of the dialogues." ".
And he added, "Baghdad did not reject our proposal, and we did not reject its proposals. On the contrary, there is a good understanding between the two sides," stressing that "the Kurdistan Region wants to be a true partner in drawing oil policy, and to have a position and a role in this field."
