    On Thursday, the Ministry of Oil discussed the trial operation of the Karbala refinery and the development of the East Baghdad oil field.
    The ministry stated in a statement that "The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Liquidation Affairs, Hamid Younis Al-Zobaie, chaired an expanded meeting to follow up and discuss the requirements for the experimental operation of the Karbala refinery according to the planned timings, and in the presence of representatives of the Oil Projects Company, the director of the Karbala Refinery Project Authority, the director of the Designs Authority, the director of the Projects Authority and the relevant authorities."
    The meeting discussed "the stages and requirements of the experimental operation of the Karbala Oil Refinery to ensure its operation according to the planned mechanisms and timings, with its continuous assurances of mobilizing the national efforts of the oil sector staff and harnessing all available capabilities to achieve this national achievement."
    The agent emphasized "developing the necessary treatments and solutions for the requirements of the product discharging stages, in conjunction with the experimental operation of the refinery, as well as following up the implementation of the ministry's plans to increase refining capacities and produce high-quality oil derivatives."
    In the same context, the development plan for the East Baghdad field was discussed and the discharge of the field's production to consumer sites was reviewed, as well as the follow-up of the next plan for the requirements of the pipe network required for drainage when raising the production capacities of the field in the future, as well as investing the gas produced in the field through the installation of quick-installation electrical production units to operate on the produced gas. currently from the aforementioned field.
