    A member of the Legal Committee, Representative Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, called on the Prime Minister to expedite the sending of the draft “general amnesty law” in order for it to take its legal course.

    Al-Jubouri said in a statement, which "NAS" received a copy of (March 4, 2023), that "the government of brother Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani was formed on the basis of a political agreement that includes a number of political items that were included in the government program, foremost of which is the issuance of a general amnesty law according to specific time periods." After many months have passed, the draft law has not reached us from the government, which makes us question the seriousness of implementing what was agreed upon."  
      
    And he added: "We are at the gates of the month of Ramadan, the month of forgiveness and mercy, and therefore, as a matter of forgiveness that God Almighty commanded, we renew our call to the government to expedite the sending of the general amnesty bill so that it takes its legal course in the Parliamentary Legal Committee, and in order to send good news to the innocent detainees and their families, and to be a joy for them on the feast and what It enhances the spirit of citizenship and increases the confidence of political partners, and we all trust Al-Sudani about his commitment to the promises he made as a respected national figure with a bright history.”  
      
    He pointed out that "thousands of innocent detainees have their eyes turned to us and are waiting for us to redress the injustice that befell them as a result of the secret informant's slander and the malicious information that was the reason for their stay behind bars and the harm that befell them. Today, the political conditions have changed, and the opportunity is ripe for the Sudanese to write his name in letters of light in history." The Iraqi state through fairness to the innocent and the enactment of the general amnesty law during his rule.”
