    The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, said on Monday that oil exports from the Kurdistan region will resume this week and oil buyers will sign a contract with SOMO today.

    Al-Sudani said in statements to journalists, followed by "NAS" (April 17, 2023), that "only technical issues remain to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan region this week."  
      
    He explained, "SOMO will sign a contract with oil buyers today, and oil exports will resume this week."  
      
    The Prime Minister indicated that "a letter will be sent to the Turkish government to resume oil exports."  
      
    He stressed, "Providing the salaries of the Kurdistan Regional Government is the duty of the Iraqi government and we are committed to it."
