The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Tuesday, its endeavor to raise energy production to 24,000 megawatts early next month.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ahmed Musa, said, "The ministry started early with the summer plan under government sponsorship, which included three phases," noting that "periodic and emergency maintenance has been completed for the production units of all stations, which will be ready on the first of next May, with the granting of powers to general managers and the provision of Spare parts and financial allocations.
He added, "The work of the transport sector included the installation of automatic transformers, and we established conveyor lines, and converted some of them into double circuits to give greater discharge energies," noting that "the work in the distribution sector included the development of feeders, the rehabilitation of distribution networks, and the rehabilitation of feeder paths."
He stressed that "the plan will be ready on the first of next May to achieve production of up to 24,000 megawatts," pointing out that "the slums and agricultural areas have been organized."
He pointed out that "the stability of the load at 24,000 megawatts, an increase of 3,500 megawatts, will achieve good processing hours in the summer."
