[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / - The legal expert, Counselor Salem Hawass, said, “The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, which contains 53 legal articles, is an international agreement that defines procedures and controls for diplomatic work between countries and shows the rights and duties of members of diplomatic missions.” Hawass stressed in a statement, “The provisions of the
article 14 of them stipulate: The heads of mission have three classes: the class of ambassadors and ambassadors of the Pope accredited to heads of state and other heads of missions who are of the same class These three categories are subject to the supervision of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs and the relevant authorities.
He continued, “The provisions of Article 41 of the Convention stipulate: without prejudice to the privileges and immunities of the persons who enjoy them, the obligation to respect the laws and regulations of the state they are accredited to, and they also have the duty not to interfere in the internal affairs of that state, and the same applies to the provisions of Article 42, which states: It is not permissible for the diplomatic representative in the accredited country to carry out any professional or commercial activity for the sake of private gain
Hawass wondered, “Why do we not know about the movements of the ambassadors in the northern and southern governorates, and the meeting with parties and officials for a long time until now, and that it is in a transparent and public manner, and that this should be followed by a press conference when it takes place between ambassadors, governors, and non-concerned officials, to inform the public of this opinion at the very least, and to be under the control and sovereignty of the Iraqi state, or to adhere to the requirements of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations./ End 9[/rtl]
