    Alsumaria News - Politicians

The Parliamentary Regions and Governorates Committee vowed, today, Saturday, not to vote on the draft financial budget law for the year 2023, while attributing the reason to the lack of provincial allocations, and confirmed the existence of allocations for some ministries equivalent to 15 Iraqi governorates.

The first deputy chairman of the committee, Jawad Al-Yasari, said in an interview with Al-Sumaria News, that "the report and draft budget were reviewed, and we found clear injustice to the governorates through the lack of allocations," noting that "15 governorates are estimated to have two trillion and 500 billion dinars."

He added, "We demanded that this number be raised to 10 trillion dinars, so that the provinces can advance the service reality," noting that "the governors are closer to their provinces and to monitor projects."

The vice-chairman of the Regions Committee said, "Some ministries have been allocated four trillion dinars, which is equivalent to the allocations of 15 provinces, while their projects are failing in the provinces." According to his description

And the leftist expressed his hope to "reach an agreement with the Finance Committee and members and the presidency of the House of Representatives to transfer some allocations from the ministries to the governorates and reach a satisfactory number."

Regarding the remaining of these numbers as they are, the leftist vowed not to "vote to pass the budget because there are funds allocated to parties that do not serve the provinces."

Today, Saturday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee met with the governors to discuss the draft federal budget law.

Parliamentary Finance holds daily meetings to discuss the draft federal budget law, while it hosted a number of ministers to discuss financial allocations for their ministries.

Earlier, the Finance Committee confirmed that passing the budget law may take place at the end of this month or the beginning of next June, indicating that it needs more time to discuss the law with the executive authorities.
