     Representative Muhammad Qutayba al-Bayati revealed, on Saturday, the existence of a parliamentary agreement to raise the sums of development of the regions to 5 trillion dinars within the budget.

    In an interview with Al-Maalouma, Al-Bayati said, "The sums for developing the regions are the most important budget for the governorates, as they are the real engine for construction and reconstruction projects and the provision of basic services," pointing out that "what has been allocated for them in the 2023 budget is very limited and does not correspond to the actual need."
    He added, "There are three main reasons that prompt the House of Representatives to double the allocations for the amounts of development of the regions to 5 trillion dinars, most notably ensuring the continuity of existing projects by providing financial liquidity," stressing that "increasing it has become necessary, since most of the provinces depend on it to increase basic service projects." ".
    He pointed out, "The 2023 budget is very important, and there are efforts to reduce the fiscal deficit as much as possible, in a way that does not affect the national economy."
    Member of the Parliamentary Finance, Representative Mudar Al-Karwi, had expected the House of Representatives to start voting on the 2023 budget next week.
    Al-Karawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, "The Parliamentary Finance Committee is working around the clock in order to resolve the budget items after conducting a long series of hosting ministers, directors and governors to find out the nature of the needs and the possibility of including them in the budget."
