    The head of the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee in the House of Representatives, Haibat al-Halbousi, confirmed that the materials stolen from the Baiji refinery in Salah al-Din Governorate were in Erbil.
    Al-Halbousi indicated, in a press statement, that a large proportion of equipment, supplies, and devices stolen from the Baiji refinery were recovered, after sincere efforts by official and unofficial parties, which made us soon to operate the refinery with a design capacity of (150) thousand barrels per day, as it will contribute to the closure of the refinery. The door to import oil derivatives for the whole of Iraq, in addition to the refineries that have been completed recently.
    Al-Halbousi explained: The equipment stolen from the Baiji refinery was located in Erbil, and committees from the federal government followed up on the issue of returning the stolen equipment, but due to the demand for huge sums of money, the previous government was unable to return the stolen materials from the Baiji refinery, and large brokerage and trading took place on this issue at the level of large government agencies. and non-governmental.
    The Federal Prime Minister, Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, had announced the recovery of equipment, supplies, and equipment stolen from the Baiji refinery, which represents a large percentage of what this important site needs.
    He added: The equipment is articulated devices that can cost us millions of dollars, and if we order it, it will take years to manufacture it, and today it is on the site. And the security services worked to secure the arrival of equipment from the Kurdistan Region to its location in the refinery.
    Al-Sudani said: We consider this step as a good omen for completing the rehabilitation of this important site, and we are on a short timetable for operating the refinery with its design capacity (150) thousand barrels per day. And that operating the refinery will close the door to importing oil derivatives for the whole of Iraq, in addition to the refineries that have been completed recently
