Representative Alia Nassif praised the government's serious efforts to accelerate the implementation of the Development Road Project, which will achieve an important economic renaissance in Iraq, warning against involving the World Bank in implementing the project due to its bad history of causing many developing countries to declare bankruptcy.
She said in a statement today: “At a time when our economy is suffering from the dollar crisis and the World Bank’s efforts to impose its authority over our resources and oil revenues despite our exit from Chapter Seven, we believe that we must be careful not to involve the World Bank in the development path project for several reasons, including experiences.” The precedent for developing countries that dealt with the World Bank and fell into the abyss of bankruptcy and lost their sovereignty.”
She stated: “It is self-evident that the World Bank, which is dominated by America and Israel, will not like to achieve a development path that may compete with their Indian, Middle Eastern, and European project. Then what is the justification for making the bank participate in preparing the designs when it is not an engineering company?!” “.
Nassif continued: “We must be careful not to involve the World Bank in this project, which will achieve an important economic renaissance in Iraq, and many other alternatives can be found instead of leaving a loophole for parties trying to abort this vital project.”
