[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / MP Alia Nassif urged the legislative, executive and judicial authorities not to allow the enactment of laws that have negative consequences for Iraq, including the arbitration bill, which the House of Representatives completed its first reading in a session yesterday, Saturday.
Nassif said in a press statement today, Sunday, "The arbitration law was proposed in parliament for the benefit of some representatives who intend to become (arbitrators) after the end of the parliamentary session, and this law may lead to Iraq losing huge sums of money because we do not yet have international weight or diplomacy at the required level."
She explained, "All lawsuits that have a foreign element, the money will go to arbitration instead of going to settlement, and we are in advance losers in arbitration."
She added, "Such laws should not be enacted, while we are in a fragile situation where we cannot obtain our rights and which makes us owe the world millions of dollars due to corrupt contracts that include clauses that benefit the foreign element, and these clauses that the corrupt have put in place are present in many major contracts," stressing "the need to stay away from enacting such laws that harm the national interest and cause a waste of public money." / End 5[/rtl]
