Specialists in political and economic affairs praised the government steps related to the path of development and its implementation.
In an interview with Al-Sabah, analyst and writer on political affairs, Iyad Al-Samawi, pointed out that “the (Development Road) project is what will link Iraq to the Belt and Road Initiative, and will put Iraq on the path to prosperity, economic growth, well-being and progress, and will make it an Iraq other than the current Iraq.” .
He stated that "the project will be the face of Iraq for the post-oil era. After its completion, the Iraqi (development road) plan includes the establishment of dozens of residential cities on both sides of it, as well as dozens of major economic projects. This is why the new directives of the Prime Minister came about the necessity of launching the first step to implement this giant strategic road." “After developing strategies and clarifying the ideas for the project to the countries contributing to it, and explaining the impact of the project on various activities in Iraq, from the economic, industrial, service and social aspects.”
For his part, political analyst, Ali Al-Baidar, indicated in an interview with “Al-Sabah” that “the government’s insistence on the project is an indication that there is a new mentality that seeks to make the Iraqi reality different by achieving development that has been absent from the scene since 2003, and that the will has It repeats it again, and its seriousness seeks to strengthen the state’s non-oil resources and not rely entirely on the oil sector to finance the budget in
He added, "This confirms that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani thinks with the mentality of a statesman and works in this way, and this gives him more space. He does not work for a party or a specific group and wants to leave an imprint, good intentions, and a solid program. All of these points made everyone deal with him in good faith, which increased." The street has confidence in the political class, the elites, and the regional and international community, and this point may benefit Iraq and may change the view of the international and regional communities towards Iraq that there is a person who fights corruption and does not have any narrow sectarian complex.”
He pointed out that "when the world sees Sudanese's successful steps, it will take the initiative to present new experiences and projects that Iraq may benefit from."
