On Thursday, the American newspaper “The New York Times” responded to the Israeli accusation about its prior knowledge of the Hamas movement’s attack on the Gaza Strip settlements on October 7th.
The American newspaper stated, in a statement, “The accusation that anyone at The New York Times had prior knowledge of the Hamas attacks or accompanied them during the attacks is untrue and outrageous. It is reckless to make such allegations, which puts journalists on the ground in Israel and Gaza at risk.”
She added: “We want to speak in defense of freelance photojournalists working in conflict zones, whose jobs often require rushing into danger to provide first-hand witness accounts and document important news, because this is the essential role of a free press in times of war, and we are deeply concerned that “Unsupported accusations and threats against independent journalists put them at risk and undermine work that serves the public interest.”
Earlier today, Reuters denied reports that it had prior knowledge of the preparations for the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation launched by the Al-Qassam Brigades and Palestinian factions against Israel on October 7.
This comes after the “Honest Reporting” website, which supports Israel, published a report in which it said that “correspondents from famous Western agencies had prior knowledge of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th.” The most prominent of them was Palestinian journalist Hassan Aslih, who works for the CNN network. “Inn.”
According to the site, photographers from the New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, and CNN documented the first hours of the attack launched by the Hamas movement on Israel, and the storming of Palestinian faction fighters into the settlements surrounding Gaza.
