    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Tuesday (November 14, 2023), economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi expected a reduction in oil exports to the south to 3.1 million barrels per day.
Al-Marsoumi said in a blog post followed by “Baghdad Today” that “the expected soon return of oil exports from the Kurdistan and Kirkuk fields through the Turkish Ceyhan port requires - after Iraq recently succeeded in compensating for all oil production in Kurdistan - a reduction in crude oil production from the central and southern fields, especially from National effort fields amounting to 400 thousand barrels per day.
He pointed out that "the reduction in oil field licenses entails paying fines to foreign companies," noting that "the reduction comes in line with Iraq's production quota in OPEC Plus, amounting to 4.220 million barrels per day."
He explained, "This will lead to reducing oil exports south through the sea from 3.5 million barrels per day to 3.1 million barrels per day."

On (November 12, 2023), Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani discussed with a number of officials in the Erbil government the resumption of exports from the fields of the Kurdistan region.
A statement from the Ministry of Oil, received by "Baghdad Today", stated that "the Minister of Natural Resources in the region, Kamal Muhammad Saleh, and a number of officials were received by the Federal Minister of Oil."
The minister said, according to the statement, “The visit comes as a continuation of the discussions that took place in Baghdad to discuss the resumption of production operations and oil exports from the region’s fields, and the importance of this in supplying the federal budget with financial revenues.”
Abdul-Ghani pointed out "the government's keenness to find appropriate mechanisms to resume production and export of oil from the region's fields," stressing that "he will meet a number of officials in the region."
On August 30, Safin Diziyi, head of the Foreign Relations Office in the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, said that Iraq had incurred losses estimated at about $5.5 billion due to the cessation of exporting the region’s oil.
It is noteworthy that on March 25, it was announced that the flow of oil from Iraq to the port of Ceyhan in Turkey had stopped, against the backdrop of a decision issued by the Paris-based International Court of Arbitration regarding the export of oil between Turkey and Iraq.
