The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, on Tuesday, the formation of joint subcommittees and central committees between the Baghdad Municipality, the municipalities, and the Iraqi Media Network to monitor violations and follow up on the electoral propaganda of political forces and independent candidates.

Jumana Al-Ghalai, a member of the media team at the Election Commission, told Al-Ma’louma, “The Election Commission observed many violations during the launch of the propaganda campaign for the candidates in the provincial council elections.”
She added, "To prevent the continuation and aggravation of violations, the Commission formed central and subcommittees in the capital and the governorates, in coordination with the Baghdad Municipality, the Iraqi Media Network, and municipalities, to monitor them and hold violators accountable in accordance with the law."
She pointed out that "the Commission has formed monitoring teams to follow up on election festivals and social media for the same purpose, in addition to creating a special section for complaints and appeals in which it receives complaints from political forces, candidates, or citizens regarding the violations that are committed."
Since the adoption of the law to restore work in the provincial councils, and throughout the last period, many political blocs and parties have committed wholesale “mistakes”, starting from mobilizing the masses, all the way to spreading electoral campaigns, and this situation continues until the day of the elections.
