    Today, Sunday (January 14, 2024), the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, informed the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, of the necessity of disbursing the financial dues to the Kurdistan Region in accordance with the approved budget and resolving the employee salaries file.
    The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today in Baghdad, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and his accompanying delegation," indicating that "during the meeting, the general situation was discussed and another... Security and political developments in the country, and the importance of enhancing security and stability, cooperation and coordination in order to meet the requirements and needs of citizens and raise the standard of living and service was emphasized.”
    President Rashid stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region in accordance with the constitution and the law, and the necessity of disbursing financial dues to the Kurdistan Region in accordance with the approved budget, and settling the file of salaries of the region’s employees.”
    He pointed out that "it was stressed the need to continue meetings and consultations between the two sides regarding issues of common interest, and to unify efforts among the political forces to support the government in achieving its program and in a way that preserves Iraq's sovereignty and independent decision-making."
     In turn, the President of the Region reviewed the results of his meetings with the leaders of the political blocs during his current visit to the capital, Baghdad, praising "the role of the President of the Republic in bringing viewpoints closer between the political parties, and the efforts of the President of the Republic to guarantee the rights of all citizens, including the citizens of the Region."
