Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani receives the Egyptian ambassador to Iraq.
Al-Masala publishes the text of the statement:
Today, Thursday, the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Samir Helmy, who conveyed the greetings of the Egyptian President, Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to His Excellency, as well as the greetings of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mr. Mustafa Madbouly.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt, enhancing aspects of cooperation in various fields, and emphasizing the importance of historical relations between the two countries, with their human resources and historical depth.
The Prime Minister praised the tripartite cooperation between Iraq, Egypt and Jordan, and Iraq’s endeavor to establish sustainable economic partnerships that contribute to facing economic challenges, pointing to the recent cooperation that resulted in the signing of a contract to establish the Ali Al-Wardi Residential City with major Egyptian companies in the field of real estate development, as well as Egyptian companies participating in implementing traffic congestion projects in Baghdad and Nineveh.
Mr. Al-Sudani also renewed Iraq's position on the ongoing aggression against Gaza, pointing out the burden Egypt bears in the crisis, and the necessity of working to end the genocide to which the Palestinian people are being subjected.
For his part, Ambassador Ahmed Samir Helmy conveyed the desire of Egypt and Egyptian companies to expand the horizons of cooperation, investment, job creation, and economic integration, thus creating more sustainable development opportunities for the benefit of the brotherly Iraqi and Egyptian peoples.
