The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc in the House of Representatives expressed, on Sunday, its support for the Federal Court’s decision on the issue of localizing the salaries of the region’s employees.
The bloc’s spokeswoman, Suzanne Mansour, said in a statement followed by Mawazine News: “The localization of the salaries of the region’s employees is an effective economic measure that will end many complications.”
She stressed the need to "keep the salary file away from any political standpoints, because it represents the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of employees in the Kurdistan region."
She called for "accelerating the localization of the salaries of the region's employees."
The Federal Court obligated the governments of Baghdad and Erbil to secure the salaries of the region’s employees and settle them in government banks, just like the rest of the country’s employees.
