A report last February by the Iraqi Stock Exchange revealed the trading of more than 73 billion shares, with a value exceeding 75 billion dinars, as the number of companies whose shares were traded reached (78) joint-stock companies.
The executive director of the market, Taha Ahmed Abdel Salam, said: The market organized a trading session in the month of February (20) to deal in the shares of listed Iraqi joint-stock companies. The market did not organize the trading session on 6/2 because it declared a holiday on Fridays and Saturdays of every week.
He added that the number of shares traded in the market reached 73,474,102,614 shares through the official trading platforms, where the regular platform traded (35) billion shares, the second platform traded (36) billion shares, while the third platform traded (1) billion shares.
Abdul Salam indicated that the value of the traded shares amounted to 75,103,936,518 dinars, distributed on the regular platform (36) billion dinars, the second platform (36) billion dinars, and the third platform (2) billion dinars, pointing out that no trading took place in the shares of (22) joint-stock companies. Due to the difference in supply and demand prices, while the number of companies suspended from trading by decision of the Securities Commission reached (3) joint stock companies. Regarding the number of contracts executed between Abdul Salam, the number of executed deals reached 15,030 deals, while the regular platform reached (12,837) deals and the second platform (1,068). ) deal and the third platform (1125) deals.
