Shares traded on the Iraq Stock Exchange during last August exceeded 67 billion shares with a total value of more than 39 billion dinars, while the traded share price index was 13%.
Executive Director of the market, Taha Ahmed Abdel Salam, told “Al-Sabah”: The number of shares traded in the market reached 67,578,009,980 shares through the official trading platforms, as the regular platform witnessed the trading of (36) billion shares, and the second platform witnessed (30) billion shares, while the second platform witnessed the trading of (30) billion shares. The third platform (890) million shares.
He stated that the value of the shares traded amounted to 39,455,203,645 dinars, of which on the regular platform (30) billion dinars, the second platform (8) billion dinars, and the third platform (544) million dinars, pointing out that the number of transactions executed is (22,983) deals, on the regular platform. (19252) deals, the second platform (3220) deals, and the third platform (511) deals. He stated that the indicators of the online trading platform for investors, IRAKA OMS, for the month of August 2023. The number of shares traded reached (1,745,769,114) shares, with (598) million shares bought and (1.147) billion shares sold, and the value of shares traded reached (1,402,840,588) dinars, (649) million dinars. Purchase and (753) million dinars for sale. The number of executed contracts reached (926) contracts, with (472) purchase contracts and (454) sales contracts. Regarding indicators of stock trading by non-Iraqis, the number of shares purchased by foreigners reached 1.522 billion shares, with a value exceeding 3. 255 billion dinars through the implementation of 813 contracts on shares of 17 companies, while the number of shares sold by foreigners reached 742 million shares with a value exceeding 1.582 billion dinars through the implementation of 517 contracts on shares of 11 companies. Abdul Salam stated that in the month of August, the Iraq Stock Exchange organized (23) trading sessions to deal in the shares of listed Iraqi joint-stock companies. The market did not organize trading sessions on Fridays and Saturdays of each week, and one of the most important indicators for the month of August was that the number of listed joint-stock companies reached 103 Iraqi joint-stock companies. The number of companies whose shares are traded is (72) joint stock companies, pointing out that the shares of (26) joint stock companies are not traded due to the difference in supply and demand prices.
