    Shafaq News/ The Iranian newspaper “Tehran Times” reported that Iraq intends to follow Iran’s example in its health policy by expanding health centers throughout the country, according to what a senior official in the Iraqi Ministry of Health said, who also stressed benefiting from “Iranian experiences” and seeking to produce medicines. Promoting health tourism and technology transfer. 
    In a report translated by Shafaq News Agency: The Iranian newspaper quoted Iraqi Deputy Health Minister Hani Musa Al-Aqabi as saying during a meeting with Iranian Health Minister Barham Ain Allahi, in Tehran, that “public health and family health are the main concerns of the Iraqi Ministry of Health, and we will benefit from Iran’s experiences in this field,” adding that he In the context of Iran's policy aimed at expanding health centers, Iraq, for its part, began building such centers to provide basic medical services to citizens.
    According to the Iranian report, the Iraqi Deputy Minister of Health was participating in the first international conference on family health, which was held from March 5 to 6 in the Iranian capital. Al-Aqabi was quoted as saying, “Many doctors and citizens in Iraq know Iranian medicines well and take them for treatment.”
    During Al-Aqabi’s announcement of readiness for joint production of medicines and medical equipment, he said, “We have signed memorandums of understanding with the Iranian Ministry of Health regarding the production of medicines, health tourism, and technology transfer,” indicating that we will soon witness valuable achievements in these areas.
    The report quoted Minister Ain Allahi as emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation in the fields of health tourism, medicine, medical equipment and health care as well, explaining that Iran “is ready to exchange our expertise in the field of health, including public health coverage, with the Iraqi Ministry of Health” in addition to implementing a program Participated in the field of family health. 
    After the report pointed out that relations between the two countries had improved, especially in the field of health, including medicine and medical equipment, the Iranian minister was quoted as saying that Iran is ready for the joint production of medicines and medical equipment, as well as the export of joint pharmaceutical products to other countries.
    The Iranian minister said, "The first health attaché will soon be sent to Iraq, and he will help develop health relations between the two countries." 
    The report mentioned a statement by the Iraqi cultural and academic advisor in Tehran, Yasser Abdel-Zahra, on January 19, in which he said that more than 80,000 Iraqi students are studying in Iran, and that more than 40 Iraqi advisors participated in the Science Week conference held in Mashhad in October. /October 2023, which confirms the close academic relations between Iran and Iraq. He continued, saying, "We hope that we will be able to implement the road map prepared by the Iranian Ministry of Health." 
    In addition, the report quoted Minister Ain Allahi as saying that cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the field of health must be without borders, adding, “We emphasize that these interactions will extend to include Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon.” 
    In addition, the Iranian minister said that Iran is ready to cooperate with Iraq at all levels, including academic training or short-term training courses, and hopes that cooperation will lead to meeting the needs of the health sector in Iraq, including specialization, subspecialization, and fellowship.
