Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Representative Ali Al-Bandawi, confirmed that there are more than 6,000 “broken factories” throughout Iraq, indicating that the need has become urgent for air defense systems and radars.
Al-Bandawi said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, that “the supply of weapons from America only constitutes a pressure factor on the political actor at a time when the Iraqi military industry is the “pride” of the national industry.”
He added that “there are more than 6 thousand “broken factories” in All of Iraq and we need a “political decision” that obliges the ministries to contract with the Military Industrialization Authority
. He pointed out that “Iraq possesses weak air defense systems and we need a lot of air defense weapons to repel Turkish and other attacks.”
