    Economy News _ Baghdad
The Ministry of Transport is preparing to launch the season of reducing flight prices on board the national carrier, with the advent of the spring season, while it has contracted with reputable international companies to repair 20 engines of airline aircraft, as part of its plan to return all parked aircraft to operation during the current year.
Director of the Ministry’s Media Office, Maytham Al-Safi, explained in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that the season of reducing flight prices for the national carrier will begin with the advent of Eid Al-Fitr and the spring season, and includes all foreign flights and various Arab, European and regional destinations, pointing out. He noted that flights at Baghdad International Airport are witnessing high smoothness and no delays in flight schedules were recorded during this month, despite the bad weather.
He added that the ministry has contracted with reputable international companies to repair 20 engines of the national carrier’s aircraft, so that it can install them on parked planes and return them to work, noting that the ministry has returned 7 parked planes to service, and is also working to restart at least 10 other planes. Its plan to return all parked aircraft during the current year.
Al-Safi stated that adhering to the specified timings for returning grounded aircraft to service is consistent with government directives, and is among the priorities of the ministry’s plan for the current year, which will reflect positively on achieving an increase in the rate of executing flights and transporting passengers, and thus maximizing the financial revenues of Iraqi Airlines.
