    Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Representative Mudar Al-Karawi, confirmed today, Wednesday (March 27, 2024), his committee’s support for governorate reconstruction plans with 10 trillion in the 2023 budget.
    Al-Karawi said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The Parliamentary Finance Committee held an important meeting yesterday with the governors to discuss its service plans and projects during 2024 and what are the administrative complexities for which solutions can be found in coordination with the rest of the ministries in order to move forward."
    Al-Karawi added, “His committee supported the governorate reconstruction plans and construction projects with 10 trillion in the 2023 budget,” pointing out that “the total number of projects currently in existence is more than five thousand projects in various fields and sectors.”
    He pointed out that the Finance Committee will host the Minister of Planning today to discuss ways to simplify the procedures for listing projects and governorate plans and to raise the problems that the governorates suffer from, including listing projects and the reasons for delaying their financing.
    Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed that more than 490 projects had been mobilized and returned to work in a record period. 
    Al-Sudani’s media office said in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani conducted, before dawn today, an inspection tour of the Nisour Square project site, which is one of the projects to relieve traffic congestion west of the capital, Baghdad, accompanied by the Minister of Construction and Housing.” And the official of the implementing company, China Railway Company  . 
    Al-Sudani participated in the Ramadan Suhoor with site workers, employees of the resident engineer department and the project’s engineering consultant, and employees of the implementing company, according to the statement.
    He also expressed his appreciation for the continuation of work 24 hours a day, with three meals a day, in order to speed up completion and bring the project into service. 
    Al-Sudani stressed, in a speech to the workers, that “this project is one of the most accurate and important projects for the movement of citizens in the capital,” praising “the efforts of the workers on the site and the supporting parties that maintained the work in the spirit of one team.”
