The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, accused Iran of being behind the decision to remove him from the presidency of Parliament.
Al-Halbousi said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “The Federal Court’s decision is unconstitutional and has no legal justification.”
He added, "The opponents from the Sunni forces were unable to remove me, and the recent federal decision was behind Iran and its arms in Iraq."
The Federal Supreme Court had issued a decision to terminate the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, after a “forgery” lawsuit filed by one of the representatives.
