Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Commerce revealed a plan to introduce 56 commercial mills to produce commercial zero-grade flour.
Director General of the General Company for Grain Manufacturing, Mohsen Names, said in a statement followed by Al-Eqtisad News, “The Ministry of Commerce began the national project, which is the production of local zero-grain flour, as large quantities of the best types of grain were imported from Australia and Russia and within international specifications,” noting that "The project began in four mills, including a mill in Holy Karbala, and three mills in Baghdad."
He added, "The Ministry will work to expand the operation of the mills in the coming days to 10 mills to produce flour," stressing that "the Ministry has sufficient production capacities from the mills to produce flour within a plan to introduce 56 commercial mills that will be dedicated to producing local zero-sum flour."
