Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced that the US State Department had approved a possible $140 million sale of logistical support and training to contractors for aircraft and equipment related to Iraq.
The ministry added in a statement that the training and support applies to the Iraqi fleet of C-172 and AC/RC-208 aircraft, and added that the main contractor will be Northrop Grumman.

He stressed, “This path that the Sudanese government will take is directed towards activating an effective bilateral relationship between Iraq and the United States of America.”
For his part, political analyst and writer Ali Al-Badr believes, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that “the new contract with the Pentagon is a positive step, and is evidence of the extent of the partnership and trust that the Sudanese government has gained with the American administration, and its ability to use those contracts in stability projects.” In combating terrorism and addressing major security issues in the region,” stressing that “the United States of America has come to believe that the security of the region depends on the security of Iraq since the Sudanese government assumed responsibility.”
He stressed, “The Sudanese government is trying to employ the existing weapons in the service of state institutions, and that this deal can protect sovereignty and situations of unrest, and send warning messages to every party that might try to tamper with the security of Iraq, to the effect that there are great capabilities and capabilities that also contribute to strengthening the partnership with the help of The United States continues to provide security and intelligence advice to Iraq.”
